We decided to take a visit to Dunster castle near Minehead as a family day out, along with our son's support worker Ellie-Mae.
I didn't intend to shoot any images for the MA but as it turns out you can't always predict how things will end up.
This shot was taken through a window (and net curtain) of the castle itself of one of the castles turrets in the grounds.
I liked the abstract painterly feel and wanted to capture the image as an idea for future use.
I think this "switched on" my abstract shooting mind as I ended up taking quite a few abstract images.
All of the shots are hand held as I did not intent to shoot much as it was more a family day.
Some of the images feature movement and are more obvious but others feature either abstract images, light (or its absence) shadow and light and, in some cases, my more autistic approach to an image.
It was a fantastic day and, after some intense study through the week, a welcome break but while still contributing to my work.
This post beautifully captures the magic of unplanned creativity—sometimes the most evocative images come when we least expect them. For fellow castle lovers and visual storytellers, the Castelli di Cannero on Lago Maggiore offer a hauntingly poetic subject. These Castello Cannero ruins, also known as Cannero Burg, rise from the lake like a dream in stone and are currently being transformed into a multimedia museum that brings centuries of history to life. Whether you're drawn to painterly textures or medieval silhouettes, this lakeside fortress is a muse waiting to be framed.
