Live bands

I started photographing Rock bands back in the late eighties.
I was in my early twenties and worked very closely with my dear friend and fellow photographer Lloyd Garland.
We decided one day, with no prior experience or any clue as to how we were going to do it, to venture into Bristol city centre and look for a band to photograph.
The gods smiled down on us that day and we ended up at the doors of the Fleece and Firkin where we were directed by a doorman when asked if we could photograph the gig to "Ask that beardy bloke over there"
That "beardy bloke" was none other than Dumpy from Dumpy's Rusty Nuts who graciously (and a little foolishly as we had nothing to show him) said yes.
That was where it all started.
